JOBS .

For me, next to Profit, Jobs is a holy word. Jobs defines a person's life, his sense of well-being, and survival of body and soul. A contented job holder is an asset not only to one's own self but to society, as he spreads the feel-good factor.

How will you define a job? Is it a 9 to 5 presence, with no question asked and a paycheck at the end of the month?

To my mind under /unemployed person is a victim of neglect by an inefficient system. While I do not advocate a right to a job, I do recommend state and society's responsibility for proper mental growth to make an individual basic job capable. I strongly feel that a "JOB READY ' syllabus must be mandatory. This entails exposure to certain processes. First is the 3 R's (Reading, R'writing, and R'arithmetic.) essential for basic education, second is skill-based exposure, then upgrading to a competent analytical mind relevant to the place of work. and a non-prejudiced mind.

 The 3 R's should be a state's responsibility (as it is already), but with accountability. I wonder how many education ministers and education secretaries have been accountable. Accountability should be part of the government's election manifesto (preferably non-fudged) and at the end of tenure, people have a right to know about performance in key areas.  Let us keep in mind This is a mission for the country, not a mission for criticism and disinformation. 

Next is providing input for earning money. The syllabus will have to be more skill-based, than academic-based. The money-earning opportunities in rural/semi-rural /various parts of India are different. Human resources should initially be segregated on a demographic basis, with an option to opt for a different training scheme at a later date  For each form of utilization, technical or non-technical, different inputs are required.

The state has precious land given to entrepreneurs from India and abroad. They must contribute to technical schools set up by the state government. The proposed body should be autonomous, to ensure regular technology induction and a quality training curriculum to ensure a relevant and desired product.  The skills inputs are for now for the trade. 

Additional inputs are required for productivity and profitability. I am sure local entrepreneurs approved by central bodies can be assigned the task. To my mind, I will be able to undertake tasks very well. There are enough volunteers who can be roped in to take up the task, Similarly, there will be enough spirited young participants willing to lend their shoulders for a better India. At the end of conducting the prescribed number of courses, the state could consider recognition of their effort.
