NATIONAL SAFETY BOARD
The recent spate of accidents in India, ranging from infrastructure failures to transportation mishaps, highlights a critical need for systemic safety reforms. The recurring theme of non-compliance with safety standards and disregard for legal requirements for financial gain is alarming. It underscores the importance of transparency and accountability in the aftermath of such events. While the government's response often includes compensation and promises of investigation, the lack of public disclosure regarding the findings and subsequent actions undermines trust in the system. I suggest establishment of a National Safety Board with aim to mitigating such tragedies. This board could serve as an independent body dedicated to the prevention of accidents and the investigation of incidents that result in loss of life.
